The camp board has spent the past six months working on a new approach and policy to manage cabin sales at the camp. We wanted to ensure that the camp continues to be a place for Christian community, spiritual renewal and serves its core constituency, the partner churches.
The basic principles of this change were shared at the annual meeting of the camp foundation in April and based on feedback and further work, the final policy was approved by the board at its June meeting.
The new policy makes some significant changes. It gives priority to members of partner churches and introduces a new requirement that cabin purchasers be regular attenders in addition to members. Overall, it is designed to enable all interested and eligible members of partner churches equal access to available cabins on the camp property, and to facilitate the sale of cabins so that owners receive fair market value.
The most significant change is the ending of the 'lakefront list'. We recognized there were inconsistencies in the process of getting a name on the list, eligibility for remaining on the list and awareness of the process.
The new process of sealed bids and transfer fees allows the cabin owner
to obtain up to full value for their cabin and the camp to gain the value
of the land which it can invest in infrastructure and ministry.

In addition to the purchase cost, the purchaser will responsible for servicing fees if they wish to connect to the camp gas, water and sewer services. The servicing fees for the lot are $18,020 and the cabin owner is also responsible for the actual connection costs to the services.

Over the coming weeks the list of cabins for sale will be collected and will be distributed to the camp constituency by email. As cabins become available emails will be sent out.
